The 2009 Film & Art Festival was a great success, but in 2010 we are TAKING it to another level.
The life of Jesus was the ultimate gift to humanity, and what greater response at Easter than to use our various gifts and talents to reflect what Jesus came and died for; to show us LOVE.
We are calling on all artists, photographers and film-makers, professional, and amateur and everyone in between, to consider how you might want to be involved in the 2010 festival. Last year, with little notice, we received hundreds of creative submissions, all in their own way reflecting 'The Cross', and I was astonished at the scope and depth of creativity that was on display. The Easter Sunday evening celebration was a powerful presentation of the Gospel message and a great night for friends and family. We have great plans to take the festival further in 2010 and creatively we want to open it right up. We want people to be as creative as possible, as long as in some way your film or artwork reflect or include reference to any one or more of the key themes that the Easter message represents:
SACRIFICE / RESURRECTION / FORGIVENESS / REDEMPTION / FAITH / HOPE / LOVE
You can be as creative with that as you like.
Nobody is exempt from the ability to bring creative expression, so go for it. Selected artworks, photographs and films will be displayed across the weekend in our services and as part of our Easter Sunday night celebration service, with some pretty amazing prizes on hand, and categories and prizes for the kids too.
