Payment Policy
GP Appointments
Our GPs offer BULK BILLING for Medicare and Veterans Affairs card holders. Overseas visitors are able to access services at a discounted rate. Consultation fees are required the same day as consultation.
Minor Surgery & Procedures you will be charged a $40 gap and $25 disposable instrument fee as well as the current Medicare Schedule Fee. Your GP or Reception will be able to advise you of the current Medicare Benefit Schedule fee applicable for the relevant procedure Item Number
Psychologist Appointments
We require payment prior to your appointment. For initial appointment, payment is required in advance to secure your booking. Medicare provides rebates on psychologist appointments in some circumstances. Please discuss with Reception if you would like further information regarding payment options. Cancellation Fee will apply without 48 hours notice. Without 48 hrs notice, we are unable fill vacancies.
Payment Options
We accept cash, eftpos, VISA, and MasterCard. We are unable to accept Diners or American Express.
Appointments
The Health Centre operates as an appointment system. We will make every effort to accommodate you with your preferred time, GP or Psychologist. Appointment times vary depending on each doctor and Psychologist ** Scripts and Referrals require an appointment
**Standard GP consultations are 15 minutes. Please book a longer consultation if you have more than one issue or a complex matter to discuss. Same day appointments are often available
Emergencies will always be given priority
You may experience delays from time to time due to this policy
** Standard Psychologist appointments are between 50-55 minutes.
Home Visits
Are available to regular patients who live within 8km of our surgery, should their condition prevent them from leaving home.
Telephone Access
If you are experiencing a medical emergency please advise the receptionist so that the GP can be immediately alerted. Non urgent messages will be given to the doctor between patients for action at a later time.
Management of your Personal Health Information
Your medical and counselling records are confidential documents. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times. This information is only available to authorised staff members.
Pathology & Other Clinical Test Results
In most cases we do not disclose pathology and other test results over the phone. You will be required to make an additional appointment to collect your results. It is preferable to book your follow up appointment with reception at the end of your consultation. You will be bulk billed for the return visit.
Reminder System
Our practice is committed to preventative care. We may issue you with a reminder notice from time to time offering you preventative health services appropriate to your care. If you do not wish to be part of this system please let us know at reception.
Smoking Policy
This practice has a no smoking policy.
Transfer of Records
Written requests must be provided by your new GP. Please allow 10 days for processing as we need to have your current GP authorise release of your medical information. Fee for transfer: Admin $20, Registered Postage $10 plus 50c per page. Payable when transfer requested.
Your Rights
If you have concerns or questions we welcome feedback. Please feel free to talk to your doctor or receptionist. You may prefer to write to us or use our suggestion box. We take your concerns, suggestions and complaints seriously. However, if you wish to take matters further and feel that you need to discuss the matter outside of the surgery there are several options available. This includes The Medical Registration Board, AMA or Health Care Complaints Commission.
